Clar manager appoints investment banking veteran Choo Oi Yee as independent director

THE manager of CapitaLand Ascendas Reit (Clar) announced Tuesday (Feb 21) that it has appointed investment banking veteran Choo Oi Yee as a non-executive independent director.

Choo, 49, will also be a member of the real estate investment trust (Reit) manager’s Investment Committee.

“Based on her qualifications and experience, the board is confident that Ms Choo would be able to contribute to the deliberations of the board of CapitaLand Ascendas Reit Management Limited,” the Reit manager said in a bourse filing.

Since January 2020, Choo has been director of digital securities exchange ADDX. She joined ADDX as chief commercial officer in January 2020 and was appointed chief executive officer in March 2022. (*see amendment note)

Prior to that, she was head of Singapore investment banking at UBS Singapore and Morgan Stanley Singapore.

Choo currently holds directorships at ICHX Tech, The National Kidney Foundation, and Methodist Girls School, and is also a member of the board of governors at St Joseph’s Institution International Elementary School and St Joseph’s Institution International.

Units of Clar fell 0.4 per cent or S$0.01 to close at S$2.80 on Tuesday, before the announcement.
