[SINGAPORE] Swiss industrial measurement technology specialist Endress+Hauser has invested 5 per cent of its full-year revenue for 2025 into a Technological and Calibration Hub (TECH) in Singapore – its first such facility in Asia.
Launched on Wednesday (Mar 18), the centre features a process training unit and interactive demonstrations, said the company, adding that it will allow customers to engage with its measurement technologies and solutions in a real-world environment.
Endress+Hauser said TECH will serve as a platform to support application development and solutions validation. The industries that stand to benefit include water and wastewater management, oil and gas, life sciences and semiconductors, it noted.
Endress+Hauser has had a presence in Singapore since 1989. Its office in the city-state employs about 95 staff in roles ranging from sales to field service.
The company plans to hire about 10 employees for its new centre, which will support the development of high-value technical roles in areas such as calibration, application engineering and customer training.
Richard Yu, managing director of Endress+Hauser Singapore, told The Business Times in an interview that demand for the company’s products and solutions is expected to keep growing, underpinned by key sectors such as life sciences and maritime.

“Singapore is quite a unique economy; we are quite driven by the government’s goals and the transformation of the economy,” he said.
“Our key sectors continued to be important for the last few years, and they will continue to be important for the next few years.”
Global leader
In the bunkering industry, Endress+Hauser is a global leader, holding a market share of 70 per cent in the provision of products and solutions.
These include key measuring instruments such as its certified Coriolis mass flow meters, which are used to measure the quantity and quality of marine fuels during bunkering operations.
Yu said the company has worked closely with the Maritime and Port Authority of Singapore to set standards for accurate and transparent fuel measurement.
He added that the firm will continue to invest in the development of new products and technology, allocating about 10 per cent of its revenue annually to this effort.
At the launch of TECH were Swiss Ambassador to Singapore Frank Grutter and representatives of the Singapore Economic Development Board (EDB).
At the event, Endress+Hauser corporate sales director Henry Chia said: “Customer proximity is about relevance. The Singapore TECH centre helps us translate global expertise into local, application-specific value.”
The new facility builds on the company’s efforts to strengthen its Singapore base as a regional hub for technical expertise and customer engagement.
Soo Haw Yun, vice-president of the global enterprises division at EDB, said that TECH will be an “important site where new applications are developed to support (the) growth of relevant industries across South-east Asia”.
Endress+Hauser plans to conduct 40 guided demonstrations for clients a year at the hub. It also intends to open its own compound, slated for launch in 2031, Yu added.
