US$92 billion damage order against ex-bosses of Fukushima operator overturned: Japanese media

[TOKYO] The Tokyo High Court on Friday overturned a US$92 billion damages order against four ex-bosses of the operator of the devastated Fukushima nuclear plant, Japanese media reported.

[BEIJING] China and Japan said on Friday they were moving closer to ending a years-long dispute over Tokyo’s handling of nuclear wastewater that prompted Beijing to ban imports of Japanese seafood.

Second round of Fukushima wastewater release begins: operator

JAPAN began releasing a second batch of treated wastewater from the Fukushima nuclear plant on Thursday, its operator said.

The release, which is expected to take decades to complete, is aimed at making space to begin removing the highly dangerous radioactive fuel and rubble from the wrecked reactors.
