WHAT’S CHRISTMAS IF YOU CAN’T dream about adventure? Let your imagination take flight with a timepiece from Omega’s Speedmaster and Seamaster Aqua Terra lines, both of which have conquered the realms of sky and sea.

    Seamaster Aqua Terra

The Seamaster Aqua Terra epitomises the watchmaker’s deep connection with the ocean, and is also its longest-running product line. It was also the world’s first fully magnetic watch capable of resisting magnetic fields of 15,000 gaus – 15 times stronger than a typical anti-magnetic timepiece.

Now available in four different dial colours, designs and sizes, this timepiece is not just the perfect Christmas gift, but also a reminder to keep your dreams alive.

The latest Aqua Terra watches are water-resistant to 150 m and run on an updated version of the Omega Co-Axial Master Chronometer movement. Their powerful anti-magnetic feature, precision and performance were independently certified by the Swiss Federal Institute of Metrology.

Available in stainless steel or two-tone gold and steel, the dial is framed by a symmetrical polished case with a screw-in case-back featuring a wave-edge design. At 6 o’clock, the bottom, is a circular date window.

The 11 hour indices take the shape of a boat hull, while the redesigned faceted hands – the minute hand tapers to a delicate point – are coated with Super-LumiNova, allowing them to glow in the dark.

The timepieces are integrated with a metal bracelet of round, polished links. The bracelet has a foldover butterfly clasp and, thanks to an easy comfort-adjustment system, may be shortened or lengthened to fit the wrist.

The Aqua Terra has always been one of Omega’s most versatile offerings, with the optimum balance of sporty and sophisticated. While each version of the new model embodies the brand’s signature spirit, their distinctive colours and designs lend a unique touch to the wrist.

Blue is a colour that can be both neutral and statement. This 41-mm Aqua Terra with a blue dial and rhodium-plated hands adapts to formal and casual wear alike – perfect for the sartorialist with an ever-changing style. The versatile accessory comes with a horizontal “teak” pattern inspired by the wooden decks of luxury sailboats.

Black dials are classic, punctuating just about any look with understated luxury. The effect is amplified in the 41-mm Aqua Terra by a sleek, glossy varnish on the dial, which is set in a stainless-steel case with a matching steel bracelet. This timepiece makes for a gift that will remain in style for years – or even generations.

Speedmaster Dark and Grey Side of the Moon

It was 1968, the year before Neil Armstrong took mankind’s first step on the moon. Apollo 8 was circling the moon – the first crewed spaceflight to do so – each astronaut onboard wearing an Omega Speedmaster.

Just before losing radio contact as the spacecraft went behind the moon, command module pilot Jim Lovell spoke these now-famous words: “We’ll see you on the other side.” That inspired the Speedmaster Dark and Grey Side of the Moon collection, which Omega rolled out in 2013 to commemorate the legacy of the Apollo 8 mission.

This year’s edition continues to hark back to such curiosity. While recreational trips to the moon are no longer mere flights of fancy – such jaunts are already being offered by private companies, albeit accessible to just a few – space exploration still inspires.

The seven new Speedmaster chronograph models across four distinctive ceramic dials represent the most significant advancement in the history of the Dark and Grey Side of the Moon collection.

They are slimmer with improved case proportions, but retain the bold 44.25-mm presence that defines the line’s aesthetic – a showcase of Omega’s mastery of ceramic craftsmanship. The watchmaker’s new bevelled polished ceramic process achieves extraordinary precision, creating surfaces of remarkable depth and brilliance.

Across the bezels and crowns, enhanced Liquidmetal technology delivers superior durability and scratch resistance. The innovative two-layer ceramic-dial construction provides unprecedented depth, with laser-brushed finishes that capture and transform light.

The watches – powered by certified anti-magnetic Master Chronometer movements – include a new hand-winding Black Edition, which has a stand-out red central chronograph hand and full-matte dial with transferred grey and red markings.

Another all-black model in the Black Edition features darkened movement components and an enamel tachymeter scale. The watches come with a rubber or nylon strap.

    Price: S$20,200 to S$21,200
