Singapore households get 920,000 bottles of mouth gargle
Singapore
SINGAPORE households have received more than 920,000 bottles of StayWell mouth gargle provided by Temasek Foundation at the close of the self-collection phase of the distribution.
Singapore Pools was one of Temasek Foundation's venue partner in the nationwide distribution at its selected 25 outlets, where its volunteers gave out more than 76,000 bottles.
The event, which took place from Nov 22 till mid-December, saw a total of 600 volunteers from institutions such as Singapore Pools, Ministry of Finance, and Accounting and Corporate Regulatory Authority distributing mouth gargle to residents.
The volunteers also helped many seniors on the ground to register digitally for collection slots, bridging the digital gap.
Woon Saet Nyoon, chief executive, Temasek Foundation Cares, said: "The Covid-19 pandemic, especially the new variant, has taught us we have to stay prepared and vigilant. In this new normal, every safety measure helps us to slow down or prevent the virus spread."
Chan Li Chern, a staff volunteer from Singapore Pools, said: "It has been a fulfilling experience to be part of this activity to keep the community safe, and being able to help the seniors overcome their challenges with the registration process. One of most memorable moments was when an elderly resident brought along her kakis (friends) so that I could help them register and collect their mouth gargle."
