Tiffany opens temporary store in Ion Orchard while existing one gets major revamp
The pop-up on level 1 of the mall’s atrium carries its key collections
[SINGAPORE] Tiffany & Co’s boutique in Ion Orchard is undergoing renovations to expand from a two- to a three-storey store. During this nine-month process, its showroom on level 2 remains open, but is clearly insufficient to house all its jewellery collections.
The solution? A temporary store on level 1 of the mall’s atrium. It should be noted, though, that one man’s definition of temporary may mean another’s temple.
In the American jeweller’s case, it would be more like the latter – a luxurious standalone “boutique” occupying the mall’s prime retail space, and devoted to its most definitive collections.
You enter the circular, 915-square-foot store flanked by digital screens that bring to life Tiffany’s key creations on a seasonal basis. For the opening of the new space, the iconic Bird on a Rock by Tiffany is featured, depicted flying through New York City’s Central Park.
Upon entering this fully immersive, self-contained space, you’re surrounded by a design that’s dominated by circles and curves in a predominantly white palette, with touches of the house’s distinctive robin-egg blue.
On display are two debut fine-jewellery designs – Bird on a Rock by Tiffany and Bird on a Rock by Tiffany Wings. These have been reimagined from Jean Schlumberger’s original creation back in 1965. Bird on a Rock, featuring a diamond-encrusted cockatoo with a golden crest and beak perched upon an oversized gemstone, is still a coveted piece of jewellery today. A jeweller will be present to show its stone setting on Thursday and Friday (Sep 25 and 26).
The store also showcases the popular Lock by Tiffany, HardWear by Tiffany, T by Tiffany and Knot by Tiffany collections.
Tiffany’s temporary store will stay open through June 2026, when the revamped boutique is ready. Seeing how it has elegantly crafted what is essentially a pop-up makes you really look forward to the revamped store when the renovations are completed.
