Beyond getting fit, focus is on wellness for the mind and body
IF YOU were one of the many people who joined a gym this year, you are not alone. According to Sport Singapore, more than 238,000 people made use of its 26 ActiveSG gyms in May 2022 – a 6 per cent rise compared to the same month in 2019.
If 2022 was the year of getting physically fit, then 2023 is likely to be the year for mind and body recovery.
Kathy Gabriel, co-founder of wellness centre Soma Haus, says: “Since the pandemic, there has definitely been a bigger focus on self-care and mental health.
