US President Donald Trump is continuing to pursue his ambitious agenda of restructuring the United States’ global trade relations.

In the latest round of this effort, he announced on Monday (Feb 10) that he was imposing 25 per cent tariffs on imported steel and aluminium.

“This is a big deal, making America rich again,” Trump said, as he signed the executive orders to reinstate the global duties without exemptions for partners such as Japan, Canada and Mexico. “No exceptions, no nothing,” he added. The tariffs would take effect on Mar 4.
