“A TIDE of change is sweeping the country,” declared President Donald Trump in his second inaugural address on Jan 20. There would be no tinkering around the edges under his presidency, he vowed, but a 180-degree change.

And, indeed, in his first 100 days in office, Trump has been able to radically change America, but in a way that has ignited opposition from a majority of Americans.

In fact, not since President Franklin Delano Roosevelt in the 1930s has an American president moved more speedily than Trump to remake the US government, alter the way the country’s economy works, and reshape the nation’s role in the world and how global diplomacy is conducted.
