JTC has awarded the tender for the industrial site at Jalan Papan (Plot 7) to machinery lifting and hoisting contractor Trans-Euro, at a tendered sum of some $5.6 million.
In a press statement on Friday (Nov 26), JTC said that the tender launched on Aug 31, 2021, closed on Oct 26, 2021, with 3 bids received.
The site, which spans 8,814 square metres, has a tenure of 20 years and gross plot ratio of 1.4. The project completion by Trans-Euro is indicated to be 60 months.
The land parcel is zoned by the Urban Redevelopment Authority as Business 2, which is a categorisation given to sites that are meant for general and special industries. This allows for heavy industrial use.
This is the second time JTC has put up a tender for the site. The previous tender was launched on Dec 29, 2020, and closed on Feb 23, 2021. JTC had announced in April this year that the tender for the industrial site was not awarded because the highest bid was below the reserve price.
In its press statement in December 2020, JTC said the tender for the site is part of the government's efforts to offer more choices for industrial development.
