THE incumbent management committee of the Singapore Recreation Club (SRC) won a second two-year term at the ballot box on Saturday (Apr 27), sweeping up all 12 of the contested positions in an election seen by some as a referendum on a contentious clubhouse refurbishment plan.

Each of the 12 positions was contested by two candidates – from two competing factions. The winning team, 12 Good Men, was led by incumbent SRC president Chang Yeh Hong.

Chang, the executive chairman of mainboard-listed Nordic Group, told The Business Times (BT) that he intends to move forward with the S$16.6 million refurbishment plan.
