PRIME Minister and Finance Minister Lawrence Wong will deliver Singapore’s Budget 2025 statement at 3.30 pm in Parliament on Feb 18, the Ministry of Finance (MOF) said on Monday (Feb 3).

PM Wong had said that economic strategies and jobs are among key focus areas for Budget 2025.

He had noted that “cost of living remains a key concern for many”, with one theme of the Budget slated to be training, skills and jobs for workers.

The government’s pre-Budget consultations will also cover support for Singaporeans across different life stages – from those starting families, to those sandwiched between their children and elderly parents – and ways to strengthen solidarity as Singapore marks 60 years of independence next year.

Manpower-related moves in Budget 2025 should aim to keep Singapore attractive to foreign talent, while boosting skills and wages of local employees, watchers told The Business Times.

Readers can keep up to date with Budget announcements and other developments on BT’s Budget 2025 site.

MOF and other agencies – including the government’s feedback and engagement unit Reach and Peoples’ Association (PA) – have engaged the public in the lead up to Budget 2025 since December 2024.

Members of the public have been able to submit their views on Budget 2025 through various feedback channels, including Reach’s Budget 2025 microsite, its Facebook and Instagram pages, and the PA website.

Reach will hold two in-person Budget conversations – an English session on Feb 20 and a Mandarin session on Mar 13
