PM Wong to deliver Singapore’s Budget 2026 statement on Feb 12
MOF, Reach and PA will engage the public for their views and suggestions until Jan 12
[SINGAPORE] Prime Minister and Minister for Finance Lawrence Wong will deliver Singapore’s Budget 2026 statement on Feb 12, the Ministry of Finance (MOF) said on Monday (Dec 29).
This will be Singapore’s first Budget of the 15th Parliament, which opened its first session in September.
In addition to live television and radio coverage, a live webcast of the delivery of the Budget statement will be made available on the Singapore Budget website and on MOF’s social media platforms.
MOF, along with the government’s feedback and engagement unit Reach and the People’s Association (PA), will engage the public for their thoughts and suggestions for Budget 2026 until Jan 12.
The ministry said it is seeking views on three broad themes: advancing the economy, securing good jobs, and helping Singaporeans progress together.
On the economy, MOF said in early December that economic growth is “essential for creating good jobs and opportunities for Singaporeans”, but noted the need to balance innovation and expansion with Singapore’s land and resource constraints, as well as climate risks.
Respondents will be asked how Singapore can strengthen its entrepreneurship and innovation ecosystem; help local firms compete globally; and support businesses in adopting technologies such as artificial intelligence (AI) to unlock new growth opportunities.
On jobs, MOF said new technologies, including AI, are reshaping industries and work.
Key questions include how students and workers can be prepared for good jobs in a more uncertain global economy; how workers can keep their skills up to date; how employers can be encouraged to invest in skills and career development; and how seniors can remain productive while balancing work, life and retirement needs.

For the final theme, MOF said helping Singaporeans progress together requires collective effort. The consultation will examine how every child can be given the opportunity to fulfil their potential; how support for seniors can be strengthened; and how assistance for persons with disabilities can be improved.
Separately, the Singapore National Employers Federation, Singapore Chinese Chamber of Commerce & Industry, and Singapore Indian Chamber of Commerce and Industry have published their wish lists for the upcoming Budget.
A recurring theme among the three business groups were calls for measures to ease business costs and manpower pressures, including more flexible foreign-manpower policies, enhanced skills training and stronger support for small and medium-sized enterprise competitiveness.
Members of the public may share their views through feedback channels such as Reach’s Budget 2026 microsite, Reach’s Facebook page and Instagram page, as well as PA’s ShareYourViews webpage.
Reach will conduct a physical pre-Budget session on Jan 21 at Geneo. PA and its grassroots organisations will also hold physical sessions at heartland areas.
