SEA Ltd's e-commerce platform Shopee on Monday announced a S$1 million package to help the small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) registered on its site in Singapore amid the Covid-19 crisis.

Its Shopee Seller Support Package (SSSP) will lower advertising, cashback and free shipping costs for these sellers, the company said. SSSP slots are limited.

Local SME sellers who register for the SSSP will get S$50 in vouchers, S$50 in paid advertising credits, and a two-week free trial of Shopee's Coins Cashback & Free Shipping Programme.

Those already on the cashback and shipping programme will instead receive S$100 in vouchers and S$100 in ad credits.

Meanwhile, local SMEs who want to join the platform will get S$120 in vouchers and ad credits, and four weeks of free access to the cashback and shipping programme. They will also receive free training from incubation managers and free marketing tools to accelerate sales.

New sellers can also make use of a 90-per-cent subsidy on qualifying costs for fees charged, capped at S$9,000, under Enterprise Singapore's E-Commerce Booster Package announced earlier this month. The package seeks to help SMEs set up e-commerce operations on Shopee, Lazada, Amazon or Qoo10 here.
