Stocks to watch: Singtel, iFast, ESR-Reit, GK Goh, Azeus, mm2, Hatten Land, Metech

THE following companies saw new developments that may affect trading of their securities on Tuesday (Jan 11):

Singtel Z74: The telco is considering options including a potential stake sale in the fibre assets of its Australian subsidiary Singtel Optus, people familiar with the matter said, of a deal that would follow last year's disposal of its mobile phone towers unit. Singtel shares closed at S$2.33, up 0.4 per cent or 1 cent, on Monday.

iFast Corporation AIY: The wealth management platform on Tuesday raised S$105 million to fund a proposed acquisition of a UK bank. Its private placement was priced at S$7.50 per share, which is at the top end of its price range. Shares of iFast last closed flat at S$7.85 on Jan 7, before it called for a trading halt. Its shares resume trading on Tuesday.

ESR-Reit J91U, Tat Seng Packaging T12: The trustee of ESR-Reit, RBC Investor Services Trust Singapore, has entered into an agreement with Tat Seng Packaging Group to divest an industrial building at 28 Senoko Drive for S$12 million. The net proceeds will be used to repay outstanding borrowings and/or fund upcoming asset enhancements, potential acquisitions, unit buyback and general working capital requirements, ESR-Reit's manager said. Units of ESR-Reit ended Monday at S$0.475 before the announcement, down S$0.01 or 2.1 per cent, while shares of Tat Seng Packaging last traded at S$0.755 on Jan 4.

GK Goh G41: The mainboard-listed investment company's shareholders have voted in favour of the proposed sale of the company's entire 92 per cent stake in corporate-services provider Boardroom to a Temasek-related consortium. Shares of the counter last traded at S$1.17 before it called for a trading halt on Monday.

Azeus Systems BBW: The information technology solutions and products provider has secured an HK$11.1 million (S$1.9 million) contract from the Hong Kong Police Force to design and develop the force's new staff integrity checking system. The development of the new system will help to streamline the Hong Kong Police Force's vetting process, said Azeus in a press statement on Monday. Its shares last traded on Jan 4 at S$8.

mm2 Asia 1B0: The entertainment company will launch a new NFT marketplace for licensed digital entertainment tokens and collectibles focusing on popular entertainment and media content from the region. mm2 has also entered into a non-binding term sheet with RHT Aldigi Financial for RHT Aldigi to invest in its new marketplace named Metaviva, the company said in a bourse filing on Tuesday. Its shares closed S$0.001 or 2 per cent up at S$0.052 on Monday.

Hatten Land PH0: The Malaysia property developer on Tuesday said its first shipment of 80 Bitcoin mining rigs has been confirmed after previous delays due to supply chain challenges. The rigs will commence operations this month. Shares of Catalist-listed Hatten Land closed 2.1 per cent or S$0.001 lower at S$0.047 on Monday.

Metech International V3M: The Catalist-listed company responded to shareholders' queries about its lab-grown diamond business ahead of its upcoming extraordinary general meeting on Jan 11, saying that the lab-grown diamond market has "strong potential". Consumers today are more concerned about the environmental, sustainability and ethical impacts of mined diamonds, it stated. Shares of Metech ended Monday at S$0.31, down S$0.02 or 6.1 per cent.
