TEMASEK-OWNED Pavilion Energy, which is an importer of liquefied natural gas (LNG), has appointed Alan Heng as its group chief executive officer (CEO), effective from Apr 1, the company said on Friday (Mar 18).

Heng is currently interim group CEO of Pavilion Energy, a role which he has held since Aug 26, 2021. He was appointed to the position after the company's former group CEO, Frederic H Barnaud, stepped down and returned to Europe to be with his family.

Prior to that, Heng was the managing director for Asia at Pavilion Energy. He joined the company in 2013 with over 34 years of experience in the energy industry, including various management positions in ExxonMobil.

Pavilion Energy's chairman, Tan Sri Mohd Hassan Marican, noted that Heng has been a "steady partner" in Pavilion Energy's business since the company's inception.

He said: "The board is confident that Alan, together with the rest of the leadership, will ensure strong progress towards achieving our vision as Singapore's global energy merchant."

Pavilion Energy, headquartered in Singapore, is involved in natural gas supply and marketing activities in South-east Asia and Europe, global LNG trading, shipping and optimisation, as well as energy hedging and financial solutions.
