Singapore CBD's largest EV charging hub launched at OCBC Centre
TEN electric vehicle (EV) charging points have been installed at OCBC Centre as part of a partnership between OCBC and EV solutions provider Charge+, the green mobility arm of Singapore-based clean energy company Sunseap Group.
In a joint press statement on Thursday (Mar 17), OCBC and Charge+ said the new charging hub is the largest in Singapore's CBD (Central Business District).
It includes 2 fast charging points from Charge+'s "Turbo" line of chargers which provides a direct current power rating of up to 120 kilowatts (kW) - allowing EV drivers to fully charge their vehicles in about 30 minutes.
Rates for DC (direct current) and AC (alternating current) charging are $0.5283 per kilowatt hour (kWh) $0.4362 per kWh, both inclusive of goods and services tax.
OCBC and Charge+ said the charging hub is aligned with the OCBC's sustainability roadmap, which highlights the green mobility sector as one of strategic importance.
It is also in line with Charge+'s plans announced in 2020 to implement 10,000 EV charging points in Singapore by 2030.
Singapore's Ministry of Transport is currently targeting for all Housing and Development Board (HDB) car parks to offer at least 3 charging points for EVs by 2025, with the Land Transport Authority planning to launch a large-scale tender for charging points at HDB car parks in H1 this year.
