Prada completes Versace takeover after long courtship

Prada heir Lorenzo Bertelli will become executive chairman of Versace once the integration is complete

Lorenzo Bertelli, currently Prada’s group chief marketing officer and head of corporate social responsibility, confirmed his role at Versace in an interview with a Bloomberg podcast.

LORENZO Bertelli, the son of designer Miuccia Prada, said on Wednesday he will become executive chairman of Versace following the Prada Group’s takeover of its smaller Italian rival.

Prada has negotiated for months to buy the fashion house founded by Gianni Versace in the 1970s and known for its flashy, ready-to-wear designs.
