[SINGAPORE] The following companies saw new developments that may affect trading of their securities on Friday (Nov 14):
Singapore Airlines (SIA) : The national carrier recorded an 82.1 per cent year-on-year drop in net profit to S$52 million for the second quarter ended September, from S$290 million. This was attributed to the share of results of associated companies and lower interest income. Revenue rose 2.2 per cent to S$4.9 billion, the group said on Thursday. SIA shares fell 0.5 per cent, or S$0.03 to S$6.65, before the news.
Sats : The in-flight caterer and ground handler on Thursday posted a 13.3 per cent year-on-year rise in Q2 net profit to S$78.9 million, from S$69.7 million. Revenue for the quarter ended Sep 30 increased 8.4 per cent to S$1.6 billion, from S$1.5 billion previously, amid its cargo-handling business’ strong performance and steady contributions from its ground-handling and food services segment. Shares of Sats ended 0.9 per cent or S$0.03 higher at S$3.55 on Thursday, before the announcement.
