Watch: Singapore government unveils measures to mitigate impact of Iran war

[SINGAPORE] Three Singapore Cabinet ministers delivered ministerial statements in Parliament on Tuesday (Apr 7), addressing the impact of the Gulf conflict on the city-state and announcing measures to help cushion the fallout from America’s war on Iran.

Gan Kim Yong, deputy prime minister and minister for trade and industry; K Shanmugam, coordinating minister for national security and minister for home affairs; and Jeffrey Siow, acting minister for transport and senior minister of state for finance, delivered their speeches during the afternoon Parliament session.

All three ministers are members of the Homefront Crisis Ministerial Committee (HCMC), which was convened by Prime Minister Lawrence Wong in response to the ongoing Iran war and its possible effects on global energy prices as well as supply chains. The HCMC is chaired by Shanmugam, with Gan serving as adviser.
