Guess BT Editors’ Choice Award winners and stand a chance to win S$50 FairPrice vouchers
Prizes to be given to selected contest participants who correctly guess BT’s Story of the Year and Commentary/Feature of the Year prize recipients
[SINGAPORE] The Business Times will be handing out its inaugural Editors’ Choice Awards next month – and we’re giving readers a chance to become winners, too.
On Apr 4, we’ll be recognising BT journalists for Story of the Year and Commentary/Feature of the Year from work published in 2024.
From now till Apr 3, readers can visit our contest site to submit their predictions for the winning story in each category. Five winners will be drawn from those who correctly predict the winners of both categories, each of whom will receive $50 worth of FairPrice vouchers.
Here are the nominated stories:
Story of the Year:
- Port congestion in Singapore leads to some liners skipping calls here (by senior correspondent Tay Peck Gek)
- Agents gave kickbacks, bankers took cuts: Ethics flew out the window in money launderers’ deals (by journalist Jessie Lim)
- Vietnam’s death-row property mogul seeks lifeline from Malaysian tycoon Vincent Tan and foreign investors (by Vietnam correspondent Jamille Tran)
Commentary/Feature of the Year:
- Changes to Singapore’s vehicle population and COE system: What’s the long-term vision? (by correspondent Derryn Wong)
- OCBC, UOB should privatise listed insurance arms Great Eastern and United Overseas Insurance (by senior correspondent Leslie Yee)
- Home away from home: More Singaporeans eye Malaysia as place to retire (by journalist Tan Nai Lun)
Contest participants will be required to log in with their SPH Media account to submit their choices. Those without SPH Media accounts will be given the option to create one.
Contest winners will be notified via e-mail by Apr 14.
