THE Covid-19 outbreak is expected to weigh heavily on the minds of European Union (EU) and UK trade negotiators as they begin post-Brexit trade talks in Brussels on Monday.

They are aware that an economic downturn and a slump in markets are yellow warning signals, and that a trade compromise is vital.
