Europe: Stocks gain ground at open

[LONDON] European stock markets advanced in opening deals on Wednesday.
In initial trade, London's benchmark FTSE 100 index of major blue-chip companies rose 0.3 per cent to 7,291.87 points.
In the eurozone, the Paris benchmark CAC 40 index added 0.8 per cent to 5,509.41 and Frankfurt's DAX 30 was up 1.0 per cent at 12,028.17 points.
