Europe: Stock markets extend losses at open

[LONDON] European stock markets dropped further at the start of trading on Monday, with London's benchmark FTSE 100 index down 0.6 per cent at 7,116.49 points.
In the eurozone, Frankfurt's DAX 30 index lost 0.6 per cent to 11,661.12 points and the Paris CAC 40 retreated 0.7 per cent to 5,171.61 following heavy falls for global stock markets last week.
