Tokyo: Shares end higher after US rallies

[TOKYO] Tokyo stocks pared earlier losses to finish higher on Friday following rallies on Wall Street, despite lingering geopolitical concerns after suspected attacks on two oil tankers in the Gulf of Oman.
The benchmark Nikkei 225 index added 0.40 per cent or 84.89 points at 21,116.89, while the broader Topix index firmed 0.34 per cent or 5.21 points at 1,546.71.
