STI ends flat amid lacklustre trading

Region's markets lack energy, with low trade volumes and no catalysts; the index closes at 3,347.58, down by just 1.06 points

IT WAS a short week for most markets in Asia, with trading typifying that of workers who would rather the long weekend begin on Thursday than have to clock in to the office.

In other words, the region's markets lacked energy, with low trade volumes and no catalysts.

Traders were more intent on booking profits than opening new positions ahead of the long weekend.
