[TOKYO] Tokyo's benchmark Nikkei index jumped more than 1.4 per cent Tuesday to the highest level since early February, but investors braced for Beijing's reaction after the US announced tariffs on another US$200 billion in Chinese goods.
The Nikkei 225 index rose 1.41 per cent or 325.87 points to close at 23,420.54, while the broader Topix index was up 1.81 percent, or 31.27 points, to 1,759.88.
