Singapore shares close 1.3% up on Monday
SINGAPORE stocks ended 1.3 per cent higher on Monday, with the Straits Times Index moving up 44.37 points to 3,487.88.
About 1.38 billion shares worth S$1.12 billion in total changed hands, which worked out to an average unit price of S$0.81 per share.
Index stalwart Singtel led a rebound, rising 10 cents to S$3.43, up 3 per cent. The stock had slid from S$3.61 near the end of January to a multi-year low of S$3.33 last Thursday.
Gainers outnumbered losers 349 to 108, or about three up for every one down.
