Tokyo: Stocks open higher on Tuesday

[Tokyo] Tokyo stocks opened higher on Tuesday, extending Wall Street gains after inflation fears that sparked wild volatility earlier this month receded.
The benchmark Nikkei 225 index rose 1.09 per cent or 241.11 points to 22,394.74 in early trade while the broader Topix index was up 0.90 per cent or 16.04 points at 1,790.85.
