Hong Kong, China: Stocks down at open after US retreat
[HONG KONG] Hong Kong and mainland stocks opened lower on Tuesday in line with a broader retreat across global markets, as investors took profits following recent rallies.
The Hang Seng Index fell 0.36 per cent, or 119.82 points, to 32,847.07.
The benchmark Shanghai Composite Index meanwhile lost 0.33 per cent, or 11.50 points, to 3,511.50, while the Shenzhen Composite Index, which tracks stocks on China's second exchange, fell 0.27 per cent, or 5.09 points, to 1,914.71.
