Tokyo: Stocks slightly higher in early trade

[TOKYO] Tokyo stocks opened slightly lower on Thursday but then moved into the green, supported by some sound corporate earnings and optimistic views on the global economy.
The Nikkei 225 gained 0.29 per cent, or 62.34 points, to 21,769.96 in early trade, while the broader Topix index edged up 0.12 per cent, or 2.17 points, to 1,753.60.
