Tokyo: Stocks open higher on Wednesday

[TOKYO] Tokyo stocks opened higher on Wednesday as exporters rose with a lower yen brightening their earnings prospects.
The benchmark Nikkei 225 index rose 0.67 per cent, or 133.48 points, to 20,088.68 in the first few minutes of trade while the Topix index of all first-section issues was up 0.59 per cent, or 9.57 points, at 1,626.64.
