Singapore shares open 5.67 points higher on Friday
SINGAPORE shares opened 5.67 points or 0.18 per cent higher at 3,242.72 on Friday.
The benchmark Straits Times Index recorded a turnover of 71.2 million units worth S$70.4 million in the early minutes of trading, with gainers beating losers 86 to 44.
This could be due to the lack of surprises from the European Central Bank or former FBI director James Comey's Senate testimony, which would have helped keep investors' confidence intact, despite fears of a hung Parliament in the UK as the votes trickle in.
Among those on the actives list were Imeprium Crown, Frasers Logistics and Industrial Trust, and Singapore Telecommunications.
