Go short on American equities: AllianceBernstein
Sydney
INVESTORS should bet against US equities because they will continue to lag behind emerging market peers during the remainder of the year, according to AllianceBernstein LP.
Lofty expectations for earnings growth at American companies raise the risk of disappointment, said Vadim Zlotnikov, chief market stra-tegist and co-head of multi-asset solutions at AllianceBernstein. As well as advising shorts on US equities, his team initiated a bet that will pay off if the Russell 1000 Growth Index declines and the Russell 1000 Value Index climbs.
