Higher starting salaries for NUS, NTU, SMU graduates in 2016
THE salaries for fresh graduates in Singapore's three oldest universities went up last year, according to the findings of the latest joint graduate employment survey released on Wednesday.
The survey involved 10,904 graduates from the National University of Singapore (NUS), Nanyang Technological University (NTU) and Singapore Management University (SMU).
The mean gross monthly salary for those employed in full-time permanent jobs was S$3,515, compared to S$3,468 in 2015. The median gross monthly salary for this group was S$3,360, up slightly from S$3,300 in 2015.
Around nine in 10 graduates (89.7 per cent) found jobs within six months after completing their final examinations, which is similar to the 89.5 per cent rate in 2015.
However, 80.2 per cent in the labour force secured full-time permanent jobs, down from the 83.1 per cent that did so in 2015.
