South China Sea tensions have hurt regional prosperity: PM Lee
He adds that countries' perspectives on issues take time to evolve, and they need to navigate problems together
Vientiane, Laos
THE impact of South China Sea tensions cannot be measured in dollars and cents, but they have a very real impact on trade and investments, which are key fundamentals of South-east Asian nations' - and China's - prosperity, Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong said on Thursday.
Speaking to the Singapore media here, just as the three-day 28th and 29th Asean summits drew to a close, he acknowledged that it would be hard to change each country's position over those waters, so careful consideration must thus be taken to resolve the maritime disputes.
