Hong Kong, Shanghai: Stocks close higher as markets cheer Clinton
[HONG KONG] Hong Kong stocks ended more than one per cent higher on Tuesday, bouncing back after Monday's sell-off as Asian markets cheered Hillary Clinton's performance in the first US presidential debate.
The Hang Seng Index was up 1.06 per cent, or 246.67 points, to 23,564.59 by the close.
The benchmark Shanghai Composite Index climbed 0.60 per cent, or 17.74 points, to 2,998.17, while the Shenzhen Composite Index, which tracks stocks on China's second exchange, rose 0.75 per cent, or 14.66 points, to 1,981.26.
