Singapore shares open higher on Monday
SINGAPORE share prices opened higher on Monday with the Straits Times Index up 8.64 points or 0.30 per cent to 2,877.33 as at 9.02am. The fallout from Swiber, which on Monday morning announced it will default on a coupon payment, is expected to weigh on the market this week.
Top gainers in early-morning trade included DBS, SPH and SIA.
Some 81.6 million shares worth S$120.2 million changed hands, with gainers outnumbering losers 80 to 42.
