Hong Kong, Shanghai: Stocks open slightly lower
[HONG KONG] Hong Kong stocks opened slightly down Tuesday after a weak lead from Wall Street while China stocks also weakened as investors awaited the release of inflation data for July.
The Hang Seng Index dipped 0.18 per cent or 40.56 points to 22,454.2.
The benchmark Shanghai Composite Index edged down 0.10 per cent, or 2.97 points, to 3,001.31 while the Shenzhen Composite Index, which tracks stocks on China's second exchange, slipped 0.03 per cent, or 0.54 points, to 1,961.72.
