Hong Kong: Stocks finish up but Shanghai slips
[HONG KONG] Hong Kong stocks were up by the close Thursday as technology and telco stocks jumped, but mainland Chinese stocks ended lower as investors awaited more corporate results.
The Hang Seng Index rose 0.98 per cent, or 223.38 points, to 23,023.16.
But the benchmark Shanghai Composite Index fell 0.17 per cent, or 5.44 points, to 3,104.11, while the Shenzhen Composite Index, which tracks stocks on China's second exchange, slipped 0.05 per cent, or 1.05 points, to 2,042.22.
