Tokyo: Stocks open higher, tracking Wall Street gains

[TOKYO] Tokyo stocks opened higher on Friday, tracking a positive lead from Wall Street and lifted by sharp gains in oil prices.
The benchmark Nikkei 225 index climbed 0.44 per cent, or 72.37 points, to 16,558.38 in opening deals, while the broader Topix index of all first-section shares rose 0.42 per cent, or 5.47 points, to 1,296.26.
