Tokyo: Shares suffer third day of losses on yen rally

[TOKYO] Tokyo shares slumped for a third session Tuesday as a yen rally and worries about a global oil supply glut hit sentiment ahead of US and Japanese central bank meetings.
The benchmark Nikkei 225 index dropped 1.43 per cent, or 237.25 points, to close at 16,383.04, while the broader Topix index of all first-section shares was down 1.39 per cent, or 18.42 points, at 1,306.94.
