Hong Kong, Shanghai: Stocks open lower
[HONG KONG] Hong Kong and Shanghai stocks started the week on a low Tuesday after a long weekend as investors followed a negative lead from Wall Street and despite a strong US jobs report at the end of last week.
The Hang Seng Index in Hong Kong fell 0.91 per cent, or 187.06 points, to 20,311.86.
And the benchmark Shanghai Composite Index slipped 0.29 per cent, or 8.59 points, to 3,000.94, while the Shenzhen Composite Index, which tracks stocks on China's second exchange, edged up 0.11 per cent, or 2.12 points, to 1,903.64.
