SINGAPORE must maintain its steady expenditure on defence even as its population continues to age and social spending goes up, Defence Minister Ng Eng Hen told Parliament on Thursday.
As the House debated his ministry's spending plans for the new financial year, he made the point that a steady spending on defence was the "most effective" way to stretch each defence dollar.
