M1 unveils remote elderly-care monitoring solution
SINGAPORE telecommunications operator M1 on Wednesday released one of the first Internet of Things-based services for senior citizens.
The telco has partnered activity monitoring solution providers to launch its integrated Smart Activity Monitoring Service (SAMS) to support independent seniors living alone.
The service offers caregivers a one-stop solution including equipment installation, connectivity and customer support to help them look after seniors living on their own.
Through activity monitoring, caregivers will be able to access real-time information to help them monitor vulnerable seniors in an un-intrusive manner, an M1 spokesman said.
Data analytics tools built into the M1 SAMS will also help caregivers identify trends and patterns in the data collected, so they can make better sense of this information.
The service will be available via a subscription-based model. It is priced at S$14.66 per month, inclusive of one motion sensor, installation fees and access to the portal where the caregiver can access both real-time and historical activity information.
Additional motion sensors are available at S$103.80 per sensor. A one-time sign-up and installation fee of S$214 applies.
The service is available to M1 fibre customers.
