Tokyo: Stocks fall as investors focus on Fed meeting

[TOKYO] Tokyo stocks fell Wednesday as investors kept a close eye on a Federal Reserve meeting, after Japan's central bank refrained from unleashing more stimulus.
The benchmark Nikkei 225 index at the Tokyo Stock Exchange fell 0.83 per cent, or 142.62 points, to 16,974.45 at the close.
The broader Topix index of all first-section shares was down 0.84 per cent, or 11.58 points, at 1,360.50.
