Hong Kong, Shanghai: Stocks start week on a high
[HONG KONG] Stocks in Hong Kong and Shanghai kicked on a positive note Monday extending gains from last week's Federal Reserve statement on lowering its interest rate forecast this year.
The Hang Seng Index added 0.17 per cent, or 35.89 points, to 20,707.52.
And in Shanghai the composite index gained 0.79 per cent, or 23.31 points, to 2,978.46, while the Shenzhen Composite Index, which tracks stocks on China's second exchange, rose 1.27 per cent, or 23.40 points, to 1,860.61.
