Tokyo: Stocks open lower as global rally fizzles

[TOKYO] Tokyo stocks opened lower Wednesday as a global share rally fizzled on renewed worries over slowing economic growth and falling oil prices.
The benchmark Nikkei 225 index at the Tokyo Stock Exchange was down 0.11 per cent, or 18.09 points, at 17,030.28 in opening deals, while the broader Topix index of all first-section shares lost 0.31 per cent, or 4.25 points, to 1,386.16.
