Indonesian consumers turn more optimistic in November: c.bank survey
[JAKARTA] Indonesian consumers turned more optimistic in November, a Bank Indonesia survey showed on Wednesday.
The central bank's consumer confidence index rose to 103.7 in November from 99.3 in October. A reading above 100 indicates consumers are optimistic.
Consumers were more optimistic about job availability and incomes, and expected further improvement in those areas and stronger business activity in the next six months.
The survey also showed consumers expected inflation to pick up in February due to higher prices for housing, electricity, gas and other fuel.
Indonesia's annual inflation rate in November eased to 4.89 per cent from 6.25 per cent in October.
