SHIPMENTS of US services to Singapore picked up last year even as a stronger US dollar slowed the growth of US exports worldwide.
According to figures from the US Department of Commerce, sales of US services to Singapore including intellectual property and financial services rose 3.3 per cent to US$11.94 billion in 2014. This came after a 14 per cent plunge, when US services exports to Singapore slipped from US$13.39 billion in 2012 to US$11.56 billion in 2013. However, US services shipments to Singapore have yet to bounce back to the 2012 level.
